Green Beret picks up right where the “Violence Is Their Currency” 12” left off, delivering another dose of pummeling no-frills hardcore punk with "The Cult of State" EP. The sound is firmly rooted in the past (think “Another Religion, Another War” filtered through “Dehumanization”) but Green Beret takes the frantic energy of the previous 12inch, and add a more aggressive recording for their strongest material yet. If you’re looking for triviality, look elsewhere. “The Cult of State” is a six-track glimpse at a horrifying future.
